Day at the Museum
"'Day at the Museum' was born in the Carnegie Museum of Art, in Pittsburgh. It was a day that we would take our granddaughter on her first visit there. After visiting the modern art collection, I left the group to sit somewhere. I found a period room just off one of the galleries where I could people watch. When I looked out into the gallery, this is what I saw. I thought, 'this is a painting itself'.I took a picture of my view from where I sat. Later that evening, I sat at the computer and created the concept for the painting. I gave it a contemporary feel, created a sculpture for the pedestal and the concept was complete. Another accidental inspiration."
