147-1

"The title ‘147’ refers to the number of total color mixes needed for the block colors. Wanting to use custom colors, the minimum number of colors mixed on a block is 3, the maximum is 9. When added together, the total color mixes is 147.

This triptych was conceived with my vision of many colors spread across 3 canvases using hard edge geometry. The goal was to simplify the transition from one canvas to the next, keeping it cohesive along the way across. Developing a tight, custom-color palette, and how to distribute it, was key. I wanted the colors to seamlessly flow within the individual canvases themselves, and then from one to the next. This was accomplished by repeating the palette on each canvas and using different iterations.

From the initial vision to the final working concept was a 2-month process. The end result showcases the planning and patience that went into it. For me, it was the ultimate accomplishment of my career thus far."
