"Taken as a part of my first series, entitled "time(less)", "Sherbet" examine the difficulties of managing the passage of time when one has ADHD. Utilizing long-exposure photography with shutter speeds of 30-seconds or more, I was forced to remain in the physical present, otherwise I risked moving the camera too soon, or knocking it off the rock edge where it was carefully balanced. It was an exercise in self-reflection, to see exactly how much of a struggle it was to remain grounded. I cannot say the experience gave me some miraculous moment of clarity that suddenly cured me of my time blindness. What it did allow was for me to acknowledge, accept, and understand that while my brain may lack the same internal structures that allow for internal time-keeping, I am in no way broken."
