"The title "Auspicious Connections" came from an intent to convey a sense of cohesion & overlapping though a set of differing shapes/forms of related colors on a neutral background. I chose shades of blue to convey a simple sense of grounded calmness and good will, muting some of the blue areas with a watercolor effect through washes, and doing a bit of geometric scratching within some of the blue areas to expose the layer(s) beneath. To create an area of interest & to invite the viewer in, I introduced a playful area of purple. Stark black linear ink markings "anchor" the piece."
