The Woodsman

"After much masking of trees with my alcohol ink medium, I found many vague images of different forms of people’s faces in the tree trunks in my backyard (wooded acreage). I see eyes staring back at me, and the partial faces within create an aura of humanity in flux with nature. The foreground is a representation of layered water and earth with symbolic colors in vivid hues. I want to preserve what is left of my community before it is totally decimated by the suburban scrawl invading my neighborhood."

- Alene Sirott-Cope
