The Storm Before the Calm

"The ocean starts to get its energy from the oncoming storm. It picks up color from the ocean depths and deposits them in colorful tones and hues in its waves, intensifying with shadows of an unsettled weather threat. My objective is to see the color and joy in an otherwise ominous scene. To paint with the tones and hues observing a more uplifting point of view. I try to see the brightness and the great pleasure."

- Alene Sirott-Cope
