Artist and father Jeff Powers was 15 years old when he started creating art. To him, art is therapeutic and gives him purpose. Jeff says, "Art provides me with a solid foundation of who I am. It's my way of boasting about my intelligence without using words."
Jeff draws every day to keep himself busy. He says, "The one thing I love about my art is that it's a choice. I had an addiction at one point, and I had a choice to throw away the addiction or my life. I chose to throw away the addiction."
When asked why he wants to sell his artwork, Jeff says, "The more walls my pieces are on, the more empowered I become as an artist."
ArtLifting champions artists impacted by homelessness or disabilities through the celebration and sale of their artwork. Learn more here.
