Building Connections Through Art in the Workplace

In 2018, Crestron partnered with ArtLifting to curate artwork for their corporate headquarters in Rockleigh, NJ. Their vision for the office extended beyond functionality – they wanted artwork that would inspire their employees and support a local artist.

Crestron’s team was captivated by the story and artwork of Andrew Weatherly. Living with Down Syndrome, Andrew channels his ideas into art, using painting, writing, and photography to overcome challenges and share feelings of happiness and positivity.

Known for his “colorful skies and ever-changing seascapes,” Andrew’s art struck an emotional chord. His connection to New Jersey’s local art scene and his talent for blending colors make his work uniquely impactful at the Crestron office.

“We wanted to bring color and vibrancy to our spaces in a meaningful way. When we learned about ArtLifting and Andrew’s work, we felt it would resonate with our employees and align with our values.”

- Marcos Negron, Vice President of Human Resources Operations at Crestron

Each piece was carefully curated to spark creativity and bring vibrancy to the workplace. Andrew’s dynamic use of color and unique perspective infuses the space with energy and optimism.

For Crestron, the partnership is about more than beautifying their offices. It’s about supporting an artist’s journey and creating opportunities that make a real difference. By investing in Andrew’s artistic career, Crestron fosters his career as a professional artist while creating meaningful connections between his work and their space.

As Andrew states in the video, the partnership has been equally fulfilling. “Here Comes the Sun brings a sunny feeling to a wall and a sense of fulfillment,” he said. “As far as the future, the rest is still unwritten.”

To celebrate the partnership, Crestron coordinated a visit for Andrew and his mother, Leslie, to see his artwork displayed and meet the team. During the visit, Andrew, Leslie, and Crestron team members were interviewed about the impact of the partnership. The video was shared in internal communications, introducing Andrew’s artwork and story to Crestron employees around the world.

At Crestron, the impact of partnering with ArtLifting extends beyond the walls of their HQ to employee engagement. By introducing their global team to Andrew and his artwork, Crestron is making their values visible and promoting a culture of belonging for team members of all abilities.

“Seeing Andrew develop as an artist has been an unbelievable source of joy and inspiration. His artwork has brought a lot of joy to a lot of people, and knowing it’s appreciated at Crestron is incredibly humbling.”
