"This painting was invented from actual maps, though they are strongly embellished for aesthetic effect. I work on these as the paint dictates or speaks to me. This particular one was my version of a region south of Hwy 62 near Willow and Quail Springs by the Joshua Tree National Park in the high desert of Southern California."
