Whirlpool 4

"This hard-edge piece is included in my 'White Line' series of artworks. The white lines are inspired by the works of Frank Stella, particularly his 1980s pieces. The colors are developed on a piece-by-piece basis, from individual color palettes that are dependent on how I envision the outcome. When I saw that I had not included any tropical colors in an iteration, I decided to create Whirlpool 4. By doing so, I was able to create a piece that is set apart from its Whirlpool predecessors. Colors and their placement suggest a sense of tropicality, such as Miami, Tampa, and Palm Beach."
