Untitled 1: Golds & Blues, Meditation Motion Series

"I like to think my paintbrush is making footsteps across the canvas. Every brush stroke is created with the intent to generate “motion” with a cascade of colors. Each color overlaps countless others beneath it. I turn to creating this type of painting when I need to redirect my mind from the cascade of thoughts that comes with ADHD. I can’t organize, and often it comes with anxiety. It’s like I’m able to meditate using this process of “walking” across the canvas, one brush stroke at a time. This set of colors - blues, yellows, golds - came to me like a dream. I had an idea of a color scheme that kept flashing in my mind for days. I needed to get it out into the open as soon as possible, or else the anxiety would have scratched away at my psyche."
