Tree Over Water

"This work is based on a photograph I took at the edge of the Colorado River one summer in Texas' Colorado Bend State Park. The park is a beautiful natural area in the Texas Hill Country miles from any city. It is part of my 'Forest Bathing' series. During the past several decades there have been many scientific studies regarding the healing effects of simply being outdoors in natural areas. These include stress reduction, increase in immune systems, mental performance, creativity and better mood. My goal is to create artworks that can produce a similar effect on viewers. I’m hoping that my artworks’ emphasis on nature will inspire visitors to discover and adopt sustainable practices as well."
