"The "Sediment" series of paintings is an homage to my past as a professional dancer and avid hiker, capturing the essence of physical movement and the dynamic beauty of nature. This body of work was crafted with large sweeping gestures akin to dance, translated onto canvas through a unique and expressive painting technique. The paintings in this series are characterized by layers, drips, and bands of pure, vibrant color. Each stroke and splash of paint embodies the interplay between deliberate control and spontaneous expression. The tactile buildup of paint, with its rich textures and flowing forms, mirrors the trails and landscapes that once inspired my hikes. This series invites viewers to experience the visceral connection between body and canvas, movement and stillness, nature and art."
