The Windy City

"This painting was an exploration w/2 mediums that I usually do not use. When working w/acrylics you can use oil pastels or paint on top but you cannot paint acrylic on top of oil paints. Again this was a time I did not have a lot of art supplies so I decided to use the oil pastels to create another level to the dark surface I had created w/the acrylic paints on paper. What I loved was the texture of the oil pastels on the smoother surface of the acrylic paint on the paper surface. It also allowed the colors to be brighter and pop forward. I love the way that city streets or alleys create a swirling affect like a tunnel w/the wind."
