The Secret Garden
"I love looking at flowers and gardens but I also find the light to be important when you are working in the garden, taking photos or painting them. I try to think in the abstract when I am painting so to do that it is about how and where and what you are looking at. With the tape process, I feel an excitement when you are applying the tape randomly w/no specifics in mind. I mean you can try but it really takes the imagination to another level. Peeling the tape to reveal the layer underneath is always a surprise and a journey for the artist and the audience to think about the layers in nature. When you look through nature whether it is trees, flowers, even grass, what is hidden under and between the petals, and leaves is a hidden treasure to find. As the saying goes, stop and smell the flowers."
