The Most You Can Hope For

"“The Most You Can Hope For” has more of a calming, stationary energy than my other abstract pieces containing rope. There aren’t a lot of active marks, rather the rope is the most active element in this piece. There is a sense of gravity or weight with the drips of paint oozing off of the forms. The title “The Most You Can Hope For” references the feeling you get when stress has a hold on you and there is nothing you can do but let go and surrender to what is happening. Often the result that I have from this is the feeling of peace I was trying to capture by being in control."
