"Layers of vintage paper, acrylic, pastels and pencil. A process oriented abstract design with engaging elements of past advertisements peeking through. Subtle checkerboard pattern and amazing surface texture. This painting has gone through many layers of process, adding and taking away and adding more until it felt finished. With some of the layers of paper lines, it started to remind me of exposed slats in an old building, and the layers of paper started to resemble telephone poles covered with years of weathered notices and lost cat flyers. This aged layering is so human, in the shared stories told through the remnants of vintage advertisements as well as in the gradual decayed appearance of surface. Beautiful for all the experiences lived."
