Suspension

"One afternoon, I noticed how the late afternoon light was hitting the surface of my guitar. Sometimes I see something and realize I have to try to capture what I'm seeing before it passes.

Though it's a guitar, it really isn't (and isn't meant to be) a portrait of a guitar. I try to catch some angle, some perspective on things that isn't literal. I also strummed the strings in order to get the motion, some kinetic energy in the shot. I also purposefully left the dust, they caught the light and I liked that it wasn't perfect.

This has some particular meaning to me because I recently started to try to play music again, I played for years, music is what I studied in college, but I really couldn't with MECFS. But I'm trying again, and I have my instruments out in my living area where I can see them and have it be part of my life again."
