Satellite 1
"I came across a series of extraordinary satellite photos from Google Earth, and looked at them often for inspiration. As I was thinking about what to try next with images, I had these in mind all of the time.
I wanted to create images that are similar to those large sprawling landscapes-from-space with some of the new mixed media methods I was using. Combining inks, paints, water, oils and some simple chemistry and using macro lenses to try to create something that looks like aa much larger vista.
This is one of a series of three, and I think these are some of the more successful results of using the inspiration of the google satellite images really came through in my process. I also think these work well as abstract 'paintings', on a canvas of glass, water and flowing ink."
