Resilience II
"Abstracted organ pipe cactus. Layers of vintage paper, acrylic, pencil, charcoal, and pastels. Lots of subtle details and surface texture. I have always been drawn to exaggerated shapes in nature. From the bird with the unusually long legs to the gigantic organ pipe cactus growing in the middle of the desert. In many native traditions, the cactus represents resilience, thriving amidst an inhospitable environment. Inspirational and beautiful for the journey it has been on. Drawing meaning from the natural world around us allows our eyes to open and see the beauty within."
