"I often try to create photographs that look like a particular thing, not necessarily the actual material I'm using. I'm very interested in space and science, and my goal was to create something celestial.

Though, this (and some others) look a little more cosmic and exotic—surprises in this process are a lot of fun.

It was created using water, ink and some very simple chemistry and taking a photo. In addition to creating an image that mirrors a subject I'm interested in, there is meaning to me in actually accomplishing what I set out to do."
