Protection Spirits

"Sometimes I begin a painting with a feeling in mind, sometimes I begin with a color. This painting I began with the idea that I wanted to explore the color blue. When it was finished I kept feeling like I was looking at 3 benevolent protection spirits. I also couldn't help but notice the reference to the Turkish Nazar charm I got at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, shortly after I tried to end my life. This piece has therefore become a symbol of recovery to me."
