"This is what I wrote after finishing this painting: If you were to take a stroll through Joshua Tree while on peyote, the colors might look slightly different. You may even feel like you just took a ride on an old, busted-up merry-go-round, too. Though this painting was based on an actual photograph as a reference, I changed it significantly to depict a fantasy land."
