"I remember as a child in Elementary school the first time the teacher passed around boxes of colored pencils. I'd never seen anything as beautiful as these sticks of color seemingly picked from a rainbow. Up until that moment, crayons and tempera paints were the only things that made colors. 'Pencil Box' is a look back at what that pencil box looked like to me the first time I opened it. I felt like Ralphie did when he opened the Red Ryder BB gun on Christmas Day."
