"The Oregon coast, taken from a photo of a road trip with my dog Ricky. In the original, Ricky and me are two stick figures way into the distance, a hazy, muted beautiful day. I remember seeing horses running wild on the giant empty beach. I'd never seen anything like that before (or since). The relatively few photos I have from this trip were wonderful source material for these new interpretations. And I believe the emotional connections I have from that particular trip come through in the abstracts, even if not explicitly shown."
