Ordinary Blessing

"Inspired by the organic elements of the natural world, my "Righteous Gemstones" collection seeks to maintain a personal connection with nature, encapsulating the serene and timeless qualities that define its essence. Each painting in this series is thoughtfully crafted from multiple layers, employing tissue, ink, calligraphic writing, acrylic paint, and charcoal on stretched canvas. Residing on Southern Vancouver Island, Canada, I draw my inspiration from the diverse landscapes that surround me, from the lush rainforests to the vast expanse of the sea. This profound admiration for nature is evident in every piece in this series. The multiple layers in my artwork symbolize the hidden and revealed strara of rock formations, akin to discovering gemstones--some precious, others semi-precious. Through this work, I strive to evoke feelings of peace, tranquility, and a timeless connection to the natural world. The layers in my paintings not only reflect the complexity of the earth's geology, but also the depth of our own emotional and spiritual landscapes."
