Not Done Being Beautiful

"An orchid bloom that had fallen. I'd picked it up to throw away, and noticed as it was wilting, it had developed deeper colors and textures. I put it aside and shot almost portrait-style that night. The hard contrast wasn't so much the (flash) light lighting, it was that the petals had become textured and patterned. It was still beautiful. Taken in black and white digital mode."
- Michael Van Huffel
