New Horizon

"There is a new horizon emerging within. The past is gone and a new day has come. This piece was apart of a drawing series I did. I used drawing as a way to cope with my OCD, depression and anxiety and distract me from the things going on around me. During this period I was struggling to leave my house and go places. I used drawing as a way to go to parks or sit outside and mindfully engage my brain. Each piece I would start out with a select color palette that I felt matched my emotions for that day. I then would allow each piece to form into its own composition. After this I would reflect on the piece and find a sense of relief from my compulsions. This piece was inspired by the idea of emerging into a new horizon a chance to reset and find peace in the new. The color palette reflects this concept, with a cleansing and refreshing quality that evokes renewal and calm."
