Nature's Bouquet

"Nature's Bouquet is about the petals of the flowers of the world. I was given a hint of starting w/dark backgrounds such as dark blue, dark reds, etc. I originally was going to keep using the pieces of painted paper but I didn't feel they were working. I had taken photography in college and had many printed photos from the days before digital photography. Again, I wanted to find a way to recycle/reuse my photos rather than put them in boxes or throw them away. I love flowers and have many copies of photographs of flowers. It really was exciting to cut them randomly. The lines and colors and texture of flowers helped to create so many patterns for this process. I really allow the cutting to be random. I do not try to cut the shapes of the flowers or the petals. I did start trying to use the circular form of hydrangeas and expanded from there. The colors of the photos are so vivid and work so well against the dark background."
