Mountainswept

"Mountainswept was part of my winter 2020 White Space Collection. White Space equated the enforced pause of COVID lockdown with the unexpected gifts of winter views in the mountains where I grew up. My parents moved to the mountains from Long Island shortly before I was born, and as kids we were constantly entreated to notice the beauty around us. The moment after the autumn leaves fell was one of my mother's favorite times of year, because while we all felt a natural sadness once the leaves were gone, winter is also the time of the best mountain views. In 2020, I similarly felt compelled to look for the unexpected gifts in a difficult time. Mountainswept shows a true winter view of the mountains, with blue ridges fading into the distance and abstract swirls of mist obscuring the valleys."
