Mechanical Southwest

"One of my earlier pieces, I was inspired through the artwork styles "futurism" and "non-objective", while exploring southwestern motifs. I wanted to create a tapestry of designs and symbols that fused together within the foreground and background. I used black shapes as the foreground, and made a hazy cool and warm colored background that helps move the eye around. I titled it "Mechanical Southwest" because it had a futuristic feel about it, very devoid of natural inspiration. This painting is important to me because I can see where my art has taken me since then."
