"Matsutake was a commission w/a theme of mushrooms in my style using acrylic ink. I decided on iridescent gold ink to start the process of a quick drawing and dripping the ink. I wanted the gold to highlight the subtle colors. I also did some research in the colors of mushrooms because of the request for these colors/tones to create the palette. It was a challenge as I generally use more vivid colors but I found it interesting, soothing and challenging working with a different palette. I am thankful for this opportunity to push myself out of the box."
