Last Red Dawn

"Painted to & inspired by the song "Last Red Dawn" by Lincoln Durham. I was influenced by the esthetics of nature, mud, ground, water from a river, golden sand. The beats from the sparse drum & snare, along with the mandolin, cause the rusts, burnt orange, yellows, blues & silvers to stomp & slide around in my brain. With my bare palms, I “beat” the colors & textures onto the canvas - to the beat of the drums - forming what resembles silt on a river - which ends up hardening to look like pieces of colored slate on the canvas. The yellows represent the golden sand which would “bounce” as I pound the beat with my palms & the paint."
