Larissa

"I often try to create images that look like a particular thing, not necessarily the actual material I'm using. I'm very interested in space and science, and my goal was to create something celestial. For this image and the others in the same series, my experimentation with mixing materials—inks, water, little lights and some very simple chemistry—was yielding images that reminded me of the surface of moons.

The blue hue of the image made me think of deep water.Larisssa is a moon of Jupiter, named for a daughter of Poseidon."
