Joy Rising After the Wound

"I have countless wounds caused by my ongoing battle with daily physical pain. The emotional burden of my chronic pain can be overwhelming on some days. I created this work of art after recovering from a liver biopsy that caused severe post-procedure pain complications. This image captures the in my recovery, when I began to experience the bubbling of calm joy returning to me. This kind of joy is a low hum that rises from the inner cave of my being. I have created art to capture moments of my pain. This helped me process my medical traumas. Yet, now I have entered a phase where I desire to use my art to capture moments of joy coming back to me."
