Into the Blue

"My 22 years in Avionics, working on early manned flight vehicles, was not only exciting and rewarding, it also instilled in me an interest in space exploration. I still sometimes go online and look at photos of space from the Hubble space telescope. There are so many beautiful photos of galaxies thousands of lightyears away.. the whole concept just amazes me. This piece looks like a launch, a rocket gaining speed as it rises up through the atmosphere. We were able to watch so many Space Shuttle launches in the 80's and 90's, this brings back those old memories and excitement of that experience. The medium is Alcohol Ink on Glossy Paper 4"x6". No brushes or pens were used, there are a number of other ways to manipulate the ink to get different effects."
