"Inspired by one of my favorite Beatles songs, I began painting the sunrise with only a pallet knife. Most of the paint used in this piece is metallic acrylic. The pallet knife provided an interesting texture which I felt added a dimension to the anticipation felt when waiting for the sun to rise. My decision to use the metallic paints in "Here Comes the Sun" was to help to depict radiance and luminosity of the early morning."
