"I often formulate ideas for art on days when I’m unable to sit and forced to lie in bed and the idea for Gradatio Vectes came to me on such a day. Gradatio in Latin translates to graduation and Vectes to bars. Graduation means dividing something on a graduated scale in this case the graduated scale is color. Photoshop has a tool that creates graduated scales of color in the gradients tool, and I had been using this tool in some of my works. The possibilities of simply using bars of color gradients and the visceral optic effects that may emerge intrigued me, and I was excited when I got back to work to experiment with this notion. I was delighted to see that I could achieve a sense of mysterious energy emanating from the columns of bars as if they are flowing down the page."
