Floral III

"As my own physical world has shrunk due to my disability, I found that I was spending more time at home, and specifically in my garden. I'm new to gardening, and I had never realized the healing power of digging in the dirt and being a part of the process of creating growth. I wasn't, however, content with just allowing beautiful flowers to die, so I decided to start pressing them. It's been a learning curve as some flowers don't press well, but the process has allowed me to go deeper into my exploration of florals, which also feeds my painted artwork."
