Drift Away
"Inspired by the Dobie Gray song “Drift Away” from 1973, listening to this song, I see beautiful, silvers, blues, and fluorescent greens spinning around in my mind.
In this piece, I attempted to show the movements of spinning pinwheels which throw the metallic colors all around. I used reflective mylar on top of an aluminum panel so that the extra light bouncing off of it helps create a feeling of movement.
Using my fingertips, I used inks, pigments, oils & medium on mylar then cut those pieces & transferred them onto an aluminum panel. They remind me of tiny islands where one truly can drift away from any pain I’m feeling from my Multiple Sclerosis & my CRPS. Painting to this song is truly an escape for me."

Each aluminum panel is 8" x 10"
