Diva of the Garden

"One of my favorite spring flowers that is both outstanding in color and design, the double poppy. Using a straw, I blew the inks petal by petal until the form of the poppy bloomed in the canvas. This process requires a lot of patience to shape each petal whilst keeping the reds vibrant, which can be quite difficult to do without reducing the intensity of its colour. I completed the painting with soft greens creating a bokeh look to show off the poppy even more."
