Dacite

"A mixed-media unconventional 'painting' I took a photo of. I've been working with a variety of materials, inks, paints, dyes, liquids, oils and some very simple chemistry to try to create things to take photos of. To paint, in a a way. I also use lenses and lighting techniques that allow me to get images that have brushstrokes and other aspects of traditional painting on canvas.

The simple chemistry here left me with these curved peaks and liquid above and the red was extraordinarily deep. The meaning of this, like many others, is when I manage to capture an image that I think is compelling through a lot of trial and error."
