"I can't really describe how this piece of art came into being. Sometimes the art just carves itself out from the board, and that is what happened here. I often have a hard time naming my work. There is so much risk involved. Luckily, I had a dear friend see this piece and feel a strong emotional connection to it. She reached out to me expressing her joy at seeing this art and it made me happy, so I named it after her. I've always thought her name was beautiful and other-worldly, so I honor her by naming this piece after her. For you, Crystal Fields."
