"This work is based on a photograph I took one summer in Texas' Colorado Bend State Park. The park is a beautiful natural area miles from any city. The trees grow to tremendous heights and overlook a beautiful river.It is part of my 'Forest Bathing' series. During the past several decades there have been many scientific studies regarding the healing effects of simply being outdoors in natural areas. These include stress reduction, increase in immune systems, mental performance, creativity and better mood. My goal is to create artworks that can produce a similar effect on viewers. I’m hoping that my artworks’ emphasis on nature will inspire visitors to discover and adopt sustainable practices as well."
