"I’d had some plants and flowers that had gone well past their prime. I’d put them in a jar of water and it turned into what appeared to be just kind of a mess. It was later at night, which is when I’m most often functional enough to take photos. I was just about to dump it out, but noticed there were some gothic, spooky edges in there. I thought it looked like a shipwreck in a bottle. I put my little setup together next to the bed, and when I put lights through the glass, the dying plants lit up with golden highlights. And it looked like a glimpse into a spooky, ornate scene."
