Butterflies & Hurricanes

"Inspired by and painted to the song by Muse. The song is about the butterfly effect of chaos theory. The theory describes how even the smallest of changes in present conditions, like the flapping of a butterfly's wings, can cause a chain reaction and have a significant effect in the future, like a hurricane. A meaningful song to me as it reminds me of the frailty of my health and of life - a reminder that even a small change in my attitude or what I do physically can shift things in a positive way for me.

I tried to capture the intense energy and movement from this song - including an incredible Rachmaninoff-esque piano interlude - and as your eyes move about the painting - it takes you on a journey between the light and the dark. Painted using only my fingers and hands. "

Each painting is 24" x 72"
