"I did a series of white on black paper from BandW photos taken along Pelham Parkway near my home. It requires the right tonal relationships to the photo and working with white pastel. When you do this you reverse the process of working with black pencil on white paper. It always fascinated me to try and duplicate the tones of a black and white photo in a drawing either with black pencil or white pencil and intermittent shades of grey in between."
