Breaking Glass
"It was late, I’d collected some flowers and other things just outside my apartment the day before. When I have them, I’m never sure if I’ll have the functionality to get some shots before they start going bad. But I knew I had some good potential material. I had David Bowie’s 'Low' very quiet in the background and set up some lights on the floor just next to the bed and tried to see what I could do. As soon as I started taking photos, I saw that the filaments in the flower immediately had a kinetic quality, that felt and looked like something captured in motion. The song 'Breaking Glass' played by and I’d thought the photo looks like a freeze frame of a shatter, which was a little bit like how I felt physically that night."
