Bits Glitch 2
"An outgrowth from my architecture, in some of my works I use the grid as the paradigm to organize a composition. The grid of squares represents pixels, speaking to the digital technology that is my medium. In Bits Glitch 2, with the grid, I used a color palette and a set of 4 objects. The objects are a solid square, a thin bar, two thick bars and two half circles. One by one, in each square in the grid, I made a decision of which of these objects to use, sometimes one of the objects, sometimes a combination of objects and which color in the palette to make the objects, and sometimes leaving the square with no objects (in white). From this combination of colors and objects, hundreds of variables are possible. This process of decision making became a meditative experience resulting in a complex composition of syncopation and energy. I like to think of it as a kind of techno hieroglyph denoting a hidden language only known to the creator."
