"This was created in my studio where I hung dozens of images of "my herd" of bison on the walls. This process of using oil paint and pastel is one of my favorite ways to draw, as it illustrates the basic darks and lights while keeping the shapes simple. Using ceramic tools to carve in lines is sculptural in nature and helps me familiarize myself with the 3D nature of the subject."
